1 About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Briant Broadband Ltd, trading as Briant Mobile (we, us or our), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit the Briant Mobile website, use the account area or complete an order or payment journey (the Site).

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains how we use personal information, the lawful bases we rely on, who we share information with, how long we keep it and your data protection rights.

2 What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer, phone, tablet or other device. Cookies can recognise a browser or device, maintain a secure session, remember a choice or support an online transaction.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, scripts and device identifiers that store information on, or access information from, your device.

3 The legal rules that apply

The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended, apply when information is stored on or accessed from a device. The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 also apply where personal information is processed.

We provide clear information about the technologies we use. We obtain consent before using optional technologies unless a specific legal exemption applies. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and indicated by a clear positive action. Continuing to browse the Site does not amount to consent.

Consent is not normally required for technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you request, transmit a communication, keep an online service secure or remember your privacy choice.

4 How we use cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

deliver pages and maintain the security and reliability of the Site;
support login, account access, plan selection, ordering and activation journeys;
remember essential session information and privacy choices;
process payments and prevent fraud when you request a payment service;
measure visits and use of the Site through Google Analytics where you have consented; and
measure advertising performance and conversions through Meta Pixel where you have consented.

Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are optional. They must remain disabled unless you give consent. You can reject them without losing access to the Site's essential services.

5 Cookies and technologies we use

The Site currently uses the following cookies and similar technologies.

Essential site, session and security technologies

Provider: Briant Broadband Ltd and DATA2GO Limited

These technologies are used to deliver the Site, protect it from misuse and support login, account access, plan selection, ordering and activation functions requested by you.

Category: Strictly necessary

Duration: Session-based or retained only for as long as needed for the relevant service and security purpose.

Stripe.js, cookies and device identifiers

Provider: Stripe

Stripe uses cookies and device identifiers to support secure payment services and help detect and prevent fraud. Stripe may process browser, device and interaction information when its services are loaded.

Category: Necessary for payment security and fraud prevention

Duration: Set by Stripe in accordance with its Cookie Policy and applicable security requirements.

Google Analytics

Provider: Google

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to distinguish users, maintain session information and understand visits, customer journeys and Site performance. This information helps us measure and improve the Site.

Google Analytics may set cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id>.

Category: Analytics – optional

Duration: Up to two years, subject to browser limits and our Google Analytics configuration.

Meta Pixel

Provider: Meta Platforms

With your consent, we use Meta Pixel to measure advertising performance and conversions, build audiences and understand how people respond to our campaigns.

Meta Pixel may set cookies including _fbp and _fbc.

Category: Advertising – optional

Duration: Up to three months for _fbp and _fbc. Other Meta technologies may use different retention periods.

Cookie and storage names may change when a supplier updates its service without changing the purpose described above. We review the Site and update this policy when the technologies we use or their purposes change.

6 Third-party services

DATA2GO Limited provides parts of the white-label storefront, account, ordering, activation and provisioning service. It processes information to provide these services to Briant Mobile.

Stripe provides payment and fraud-prevention services. Stripe may receive device, browser, interaction and transaction information when its technology is used. More information is available in the Stripe Cookie Policy.

Google provides Google Analytics. When you consent, Google Analytics collects information about how visitors use the Site, including pages viewed, interactions, approximate location and device or browser information. We use this information to measure and improve the Site.

Meta Platforms provides Meta Pixel. When you consent, Meta Pixel collects information about visits and actions on the Site so we can measure campaigns, conversions and audiences. Meta may combine this information with information held through its products, subject to Meta's privacy information.

7 Your choices

When you first visit the Site, the consent panel allows you to select Accept all, Reject non-essential or Manage choices.

Google Analytics and Meta Pixel remain disabled unless you consent to the relevant category. Closing the panel or continuing to browse does not amount to consent.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookie settings control on the Site.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, but we will stop future optional storage and access as soon as reasonably practicable.

Essential technologies cannot be switched off through the consent panel because they are required to provide requested features, maintain security or remember privacy choices.

You can block or delete essential technologies using your browser settings, but parts of the Site, account area, ordering process or payment journey may then stop working correctly.

8 Personal information and your rights

Some technologies process personal information, such as an Internet Protocol (IP) address, online identifier, device information, account reference, pages visited or actions taken.

Our Privacy Notice explains the purposes for which we use personal information, the lawful bases we rely on, who receives the information, international transfers, retention periods and your rights.

Depending on the circumstances, your rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. Some rights are not absolute.

9 Changes to this policy

We review this policy when the Site, suppliers, technologies or legal requirements change.

We will publish the current version and the date it was last updated on the Site. If a new purpose requires consent, we will ask for consent before activating the relevant technology.
